Customised promotional model vehicle specialists, Search Impex, are delighted to
announce the release of a 1:50 scale Volvo A60H articulated dumper truck,
customised in the livery of Midlands based operator Collins Earthworks Ltd.
The models have been produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Models as a
certificated Limited Edition (215 pieces).
Based near the Derbyshire market town of Ripley, the business was established
many years ago by David Collins, firstly as a sole trader and later registering as
Collins Contractors Plant Hire Ltd in 2000. In 2006, the trading name was changed
to Collins Earthworks Ltd., and continued successful growth has seen the Company
undertake work throughout the UK. In addition to earthworks, the business has
established a number of affiliated companies, including its sister company,
EnviroTrac Ltd, (set up in 2008, specialising in soil stabilisation), Collins Training
(formed in 2013 to provide operator training both internally as well as for external
clients) and most recently Collins Demolition Ltd. Each enterprise operates out of
two sites in Ripley and Kirkby In Ashfield in Nottinghamshire.
Collins Earthworks Ltd has been managing earthmoving projects for over 15 years. It
provides a fast, flexible, reliable and professional service nationwide and has
achieved long running success meeting the demands of its customers from
consultation through to construction. With a constant programme of investment in its
staff and fleet, the business has its own workshops and mobile service units with fully
qualified mechanical technicians to help keep machine down time to a minimum.
With an extensive fleet of over 1100 pieces of plant, equipment and hgv’s, Collins
operates the country’s biggest private fleet of Volvo A60H articulated dumpers.
Capable of carrying an impressive 55 metric ton payload and with a cubic capacity
body just shy of 34cu m, these dumpers are regularly teamed up with Collins fleet of
excavators (including the mighty Volvo EC950F – the largest excavator in the Volvo
range). As true industry workhorses, the Volvo A60H dumpers (on which the models
will be based) are also presently the largest articulated dump trucks on the market.
