With COVID-19 continuing to have an impact on the transport & logistics industry could this be something really useful?.
“Furloughed drivers can attend training” says Government
The Driving & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) have put classroom-based Driver CPC training on hold until at least 21st June 2020. This has left some HGV drivers whose Driver Qualification Card (DQC) runs out before then, with a major problem.
Some training providers who meet the required DVSA standards are able to offer remote training. Agua Consulting, as one of these approved providers is pleased to be able to help by offering a number of suitable subjects including the ever popular and topical Smart Motorway Driving for Professional Drivers module.
“The Smart Motorway module has been going down really well with drivers in the classroom environment and I am sure that it will be equally well received as an on-line offering” says Mandy Wannerton – Training Specialist within the Transport Industry and a key member of the Agua Consulting training team. “Other courses that we feel will work on-line are Professional Driver Update and Operator Licence Awareness Training” says Mandy.
“This method of training should appeal to those whose cards are due to run out, those who would normally be undertaking their annual course at this time and of course those with some extra time available for home learning” continues Mandy, “we will be offering the on-line modules in two bite sized chunks of 3.5 hours spread over a 24 hour period in line with DVSA requirements”
