Sure to be a “must have” for collectors of Scottish hauliers’ model trucks, the McCaul model has been produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Collectables as a certificated Limited Edition (175 pieces).
The recent takeover (completed February 2018) of McCaul Haulage by Dyce based ARR Craib will see a long established haulier whose livery has been a familiar part of the Scottish road haulage scene for many years being phased out over the coming months. The takeover was agreed between the two companies following the decision of founding owner, Tim McCaul, to retire from the business.
Since its launch in the early 1970’s, McCaul Haulage catered for the transport needs of its clients in the north east of Scotland in a wide range of different sectors. It undertook business throughout the UK & Europe and was well known for service and delivery, as well as having an excellent reputation as an abnormal load specialist.
ARR Craib
ARR Craib and McCaul Haulage operated in broadly similar sectors of the haulage industry. This meant that the recently completed takeover was an excellent strategic fit and enabled a seamless transition of staff, contracts and assets to ARR Craib – including McCaul’s fleet of hgv’s and a number of its curtainside and flatbed trailers. The takeover now makes ARR Craib the largest company of its kind in the area with a workforce of 430 and a fleet of over 300 vehicles and trailers operating from bases and distribution hubs in Aberdeen, Cumbernauld, Stockton on Tees and Great Yarmouth.
