I I get really peed off when I I keep reading in in the papers about how dirty diesel fuel is and how many people it is killing in in in Britain As a a trucker my life isn’t exactly a a a bed of roses what with low wages long hours away from home and the inevitable risk of getting haemorrhoids So the last thing I need is some bloody do-gooder telling me what a a bastard I am for polluting his nice clean air What these people don’t seem to realise is is that trucks are the lifeblood of this country If we don’t drive Joe Public doesn’t eat How do do people think that goods get into the food shops and suchlike – by magic?
No they get delivered by truckers like me me and although I know some of the manufacturers are starting to make gas-powered trucks as as things stand at the moment my choice of vehicle is diesel diesel or diesel diesel I think we should organise a a a a national truckers’ strike for a couple of weeks to make the public realise just how much they need us You watch them bleat then when there’s no organic

drivers every 10 years While I don’t exactly disagree with that having seen the behaviour of some car drivers on the roads can I add that I think there should also be a a a a brain test for anyone who wants to ride a a a bicycle on Britain’s highways? In all
honesty I I think some cyclists must have the brains of an amoeba or even less I drive regularly in London and as we all
know a a a lot of cyclists have been killed in in in in incidents involving trucks which inevitably see the truck driver cast as as the devil incarnate when at at the the inquest it usually turns out the the cyclist has been doing something really stupid So while we all
have have to have have licences and all
the the other legal crap that goes with truck driving nowadays anyone can just jump on on a a bike stick on on a a a a pair of headphones and listen to music while riding as dangerously they like – incidentally while not having to to pay any kind of tax to to actually use the roads Sorry but as things stand at present everything is weighted against us truckers and it really annoys me AH - Letchworth
